This is one of the most common questions we hear, and the answer is no—a properly balanced tallow shampoo should not leave your hair coated in grease.
Tallow is only one part of the complete formula. Our shampoo also contains gentle cleansing ingredients that allow it to lather and rinse away. The conditioner is rich and creamy, so it should be applied mainly from the middle of your hair to the ends.
Start with a small amount and rinse thoroughly. Using too much product or not rinsing long enough can make almost any shampoo or conditioner feel heavy.
Does Tallow Shampoo Lather?
Yes! Our formula uses a blend of sulfate-free cleansers that creates a gentle, effective lather.
For the best results, completely saturate your hair with water before applying the shampoo. Massage a small amount directly into your scalp, adding a little more water if needed to help distribute the lather.

Is It Suitable for Different Hair Types?
Our tallow shampoo and conditioner are pH-balanced and formulated for a variety of hair types, including straight, curly, fine, thick and color-treated hair.
Fine or naturally oily hair may need less conditioner. Apply it primarily to the ends rather than directly to the scalp. Dry, thick or curly hair may benefit from leaving the conditioner on for two to three minutes before rinsing.
How to Use Tallow Shampoo and Conditioner
For the best results:
